Founding members
Five EU Member States founded the DC-EDIC, pooling resources and political commitment to develop, maintain, and scale digital commons across Europe. Each brings its own experience with sovereign digital infrastructure, and the political will to build a shared European ecosystem.

What members get
- Shared development costs. Split the investment in infrastructure, tools, and maintenance across all members instead of funding them alone.
- Co-funding via Digital Europe Programme. Access EU financing instruments with consortium-level support.
- Seat at the table. Vote in the Assembly on strategic direction, work programme, and budget.
- Coordination and expertise across borders: deployment experience, procurement knowledge, and shared learning from five national contexts.
- Joint procurement. Pool demand for services and development across borders.

Observer status allows participation in Assembly meetings and working groups, a structured on-ramp to full membership. This brings the total number of participants to twelve.
How to join
The DC-EDIC is open to all EU and EEA Member States. Membership is decided by the Assembly.

- Observer status. Attend Assembly meetings, participate in working groups, explore alignment with your national digital strategy.
- Membership application. Submit to the Assembly, which decides by qualified majority.
- Full membership. Contribute to and benefit from the shared development programme.
